JobsOhio remains committed to being open, transparent and accountable. Today, JobsOhio is publishing the 2020 wage data for its associates, including the names and titles of its top executives’ compensation.

The year 2020 impacted the entire U.S. economy as well as Ohio’s. When Ohio needed it most, during a pandemic year, JobsOhio utilized its industry experienced team, statewide reach through the JobsOhio network partners and private funding to quickly pivot to help thousands of Ohio businesses sustain their operations and retain jobs while continuing to compete for economic development projects that will drive future opportunity and help this state come out of the pandemic stronger than before.

Collectively, since inception and through 2019, JobsOhio has successfully completed over 2,500 projects, created over 200,000 new jobs resulting in $9.3B new payroll. These projects invested over $56.6B in new capital investment, ushering new and expansive opportunities in the state’s economic recovery and future growth.

In order to generate ongoing economic development for the state and drive JobsOhio’s new and expanding initiatives – including strategies addressing talent and workforce, job ready site development, innovation, and inclusive economic development that impacts all parts of Ohio – JobsOhio associates’ wages have been adjusted to remain competitive with the market. In 2020, JobsOhio has increased its number of associates from 102 to 106, a 4% increase, and wages increasing by 11% over 2019. (Wages includes, total compensation paid to an employee including performance-based bonus, healthcare benefits, and 401K reported from Box 18 of W-2) JobsOhio associates’ wages are established in alignment with thorough, market-based compensation studies completed by an independent consulting firm under the direction of JobsOhio’s Compensation Committee and its Board of Directors.

As a private nonprofit corporation, JobsOhio files tax form 990 with the IRS each year. The 2019 IRS Form 990 will be posted on JobsOhio’s website March 1, 2021. JobsOhio offers the following benefits to all full-time associates: 401K match, medical premiums, vision, dental, and life insurance premiums, and short and long-term disability premiums. The benefits for JobsOhio associates are of similar value to those in other nonprofit organizations. JobsOhio makes the Form 990 available on its website, which also exceeds its statutory requirements.

“After an extensive third-party review of peer group wages, the JobsOhio Board of Directors recommended associate compensation that meets industry standards and guidelines,” said Retired Air Force General Lester L. Lyles, the JobsOhio Board’s compensation committee chairman. “This adjusted compensation reflects market demand and maintains JobsOhio ability to retain the talent necessary to attract investment to Ohio and create jobs.”

JobsOhio values its workforce and believes that competitive wages and benefits are essential in recruiting and retaining the associates needed to fulfill its mission. JobsOhio has a performance-driven culture and associates are compensated on the basis of their individual effectiveness and ability to deliver on established goals. The organization complies with all federal and state laws and regulations as it relates to employee compensation and ensures total compensation is within budgetary constraints and approved by the board of directors.
