Company Need:
Due to the nationwide uptick in pet adoption during COVID-19, BARK has seen unprecedented growth and is branching out to meet the increased demand for its services. BARK expanded operations by creating other verticals to serve customers, including BARK Eats and BARK Bright in 2020.
BARK sought to make a significant product and operations investment to address increasing product demand and enhance e-commerce, logistics, and help desk support functions.

BARK strategically chose Columbus to expand over other markets, such as Austin, San Juan, and Nashville.
Within a one-day drive of more than 60% of the U.S. and Canada populations, Ohio’s geographic location puts BARK closer to more customers, thereby reducing delivery time. Ohio also has a robust innovation network that brings about the talent and culture that disruptive companies like BARK want.
In 2015, the company opened its first CX (customer service/experience) center in Columbus. After committing to 120 jobs in 2015, the company currently has 250 full-time employees in Columbus and will triple its workforce with its latest investment.
