Company Need:
AddUp, Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of AddUp, a global manufacturer of metal 3D printing equipment and supplier of 3D printed parts, wants to centralize its operations along with its U.S. subsidiary, BeAM, Inc., which is in Blue Ash, in Ohio’s southwestern region.
AddUp focuses on Powder Bed Fusion (PBF) technology while BeAM focuses on Direct Energy Deposition (DED). The two companies will form one operating unit which will also be its North American headquarters.
Why Ohio?
Blue Ash will be AddUp and BeAM, Inc.’s new centralized location. Ohio’s talent, collaborative environment, and manufacturing heritage were key in the company’s decision.
Advanced manufacturing operations have been a staple of Ohio’s economy for generations. Ohio’s role as a leader in advanced manufacturing is more vital than ever as companies embrace new ways of making things with additive manufacturing, automation, advanced materials and other new technologies. Ohio is home to America Makes, the U.S.’s leading and collaborative partner in additive manufacturing (AM)/3D printing (3DP) technology and workforce development.
AddUp will move machines and equipment from its operation in Greenville, South Carolina to Blue Ash. The company will also create 25 new jobs and invest $12.5 million in Blue Ash over the next three years, driven by the expansion of the metals 3D printing market along with increased investment in product development and sales channels on the part of AddUp’s investors, Michelin and French industrial group Fives.
