Breeze Airways Announces Service to Six New Destinations from Akron-Canton
Breeze Airways, the premium leisure carrier offering affordable nonstop service across the U.S., announced it will offer service to six new destinations from Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) this fall, including five nonstops, one one-stop/no change of plane BreezeThru to destinations in Florida and North Carolina.
Beginning today, Akron-Canton travelers can book flights on Breeze to:
- Daytona Beach, Fla.
- Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
- Jacksonville, Fla.
- Key West, Fla.
- West Palm Beach, Fla.
- Wilmington, N.C.
“Breeze Airways’ addition of five new direct-service markets now connects Akron-Canton Airport to 16 nonstop destinations since the carrier first launched flights from CAK in 2021 with assistance from the JobsOhio Air Service Restoration Program and our local partners,” said JobsOhio President and CEO J.P. Nauseef. “Today, CAK is a Breeze Airways base of operations that delivers Northeast Ohioans easy access to both coasts and locations in between, boosting both business and leisure travel.”
The news comes just weeks ahead of Breeze’s new crew base opening in Akron-Canton as demand for its premium service continues to grow within the community. The base, which was made possible with support from its partners at JobsOhio and the Akron-Canton Airport, is expected to bring more than 60 pilots, flight attendants, and maintenance jobs to the community over the next three years.
“We are incredibly grateful to our passengers across Northeast Ohio, whose continued support of CAK is driving this exciting growth,” said Ren Camacho, President and CEO of the Akron-Canton Airport. “Breeze Airways’ decision to add five nonstop destinations and establish a crew base here directly results from travelers choosing CAK. Their investment reflects growing confidence in our region and strengthens our role as a key aviation and economic asset for the community.”
Known for its premium low-cost model, Breeze was recently named 2025 Startup Airline of the year by the Centre for Aviation (CAPA) and recognized as a Four-Star Low-Cost Carrier at the 2025 Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) Five-Star and Four-Star Airline Awards. The APEX Five- and Four-Star airlines represent the top 100 carriers worldwide for passenger experience, with only eight percent of airlines worldwide achieving this status. Earlier this year, Breeze was ranked in the top five of Travel + Leisure’s “Best Domestic Airlines” for the third consecutive year.
“We're excited to expand our service from CAK as we continue putting down roots in the community,” said Breeze Airways’ founder and CEO, David Neeleman. “Breeze is the largest carrier in CAK for the number of destinations served, and we look forward to offering service to more exciting destinations as we continue to grow.”
"Congratulations to Breeze Airways and Akron-Canton Airport on the continued expansion of flight services,” stated Team NEO CEO Matt Dolan. “Each new route is connecting people for business and tourism.”
