Statement from JobsOhio President and CEO J.P. Nauseef Regarding JobsOhio’s Chips and Science Act Funding Disbursement
COLUMBUS – Today, JobsOhio President and CEO J.P. Nauseef released the following statement regarding the disbursement of federal Chips and Science Act dollars that will support Intel’s manufacturing facility in Licking County. Read more about the project at www.intelinohio.com.
“Two years ago, Ohio’s congressional delegation worked together with the current administration to pass the CHIPS act, and the federal government’s disbursement of Chips and Science Act funding announcement will enable continued restoring of the critical semiconductor industry - centered in the silicon heartland here in Ohio!”
“Much more work needs to be done, and JobsOhio and Ohio look forward to working closely with the incoming Trump administration to support Intel’s decision to choose Ohio and build its most advanced semiconductor facilities worldwide, which will close the gap in domestically produced chips that has left the U.S. vulnerable to supply chain disruptions.”
“While the Intel campus is being built in Licking County, this is a statewide project with more than 360 Ohio suppliers across 47 counties and construction workers from 75 of Ohio’s 88 counties. Ohio needs to keep that momentum going so we can hyperscale American manufacturing of semiconductors critical to the U.S. economy and our national defense.”
“We applaud both sides of the political aisle for following through on their promise to boost U.S. chip production, sparking ingenuity and hard work across Ohio that will strengthen the state’s position as a global center for modern manufacturing.”
