Modernizing Patient Care In Ohio
Published: Tue Jul 06 2021
Ohio's great environment, quality of life, abundance of talent, and infrastructure has contributed to the success of Enable Injections.
According to Michael Hooven, President and CEO of Enable Injections, the goal of the company is to change the way intravenous drugs are delivered, to move that delivery from the hospital or clinic into the patient's home. Patients can use infusion devices at home in place of an IV administration. The patient simply places the device on their body, press a button, and the device automatically displenses the drug.
In terms of locating in Ohio, there was no question on choosing the state because of the connections and resources. The quality of engineering and education in Ohio has created a high-quality workforce, and Ohio's excellent cost of doing business has made a significant difference to Enable Injections compared to coastal locations.
"We're really excited about manufacturing here in Ohio. We were considering China, we were considering Mexico. We said it makes a lot more sense to manufacture here in Ohio where we have control, where we have great people, and where we can help build this economy in Cincinnati, in Ohio."
Enable Injections can produce about three million units per year. By the time each product gets to the end of the line, it has taken over a thousand measurements. The impact the business has on people and healthcare costs, as well as seeing the dedication of the workforce at Enable Injections in making patients' lives better around the world, has made the company proud to call Ohio home.
People don’t really appreciate how good living in Ohio is and how sophisticated Ohio business really is because the people in Ohio don’t brag about themselves.
