Capital Investment: Almost $1 million
Company Need:
City Barbeque currently employs 47 full-time employees at its office at 6175 Emerald Parkway, a location it has nearly outgrown. To accommodate its future expansion plans, the company needed the most suitable location for the growth of its workforce.
Why Ohio?
City Barbeque will invest almost $1 million to grow in Dublin, a northern suburb of Columbus. The company will maintain its existing office and use its new investment to expand into a 16,000-square-foot facility at 5168 Blazer Parkway to accommodate its continued growth across the country. The facility will include the addition of research and development for City Barbeque, as well as a new training facility and test kitchen.
The company made this decision based on the economic feasibility of expanding in its home region rather than in other regions where the company is rapidly growing.
Ohio’s food and agribusiness industry boasts hundreds of companies that have a role in producing foods and drinks enjoyed by consumers worldwide. Kroger, Bob Evans, Smucker’s and Wendy’s are among the food leaders all headquartered in Ohio. Ohio’s concentration of food companies, R&D resources, markets and testing opportunities have been giving companies a competitive edge for generations.
