Timetable: Vienna Beef has been looking for a solution to its Chipico growth needs for the last five years. Numerous sites have been considered in the Midwest and the South. The Newcomerstown building was seriously considered in late fall of 2023 and became a firm solution in early 2024. The building modifications are in the final planning stage, and the intent is to complete those upgrades and begin operations mid to late summer of 2024.

While best known for its premium Chicagoland deli meats, the company has experienced rising demand for refrigerated pickles sold to grocers, restaurants, and other food service outlets nationwide. The Newcomerstown facility will be the third pickle facility, adding to the current locations in California and Florida.
