Founded in 1999, Ohio Valley Stamping is a Mansfield-based manufacturer supplying metal stampings and fabricated assemblies to a wide range of industries, primarily serving the automotive and “white goods” markets.
The Challenge
In 2022, Ohio Valley Stamping secured a long-term contract with a major customer—creating an immediate need to increase production capacity.
To meet demand, the company identified a vacant 20,000-square-foot facility near its Newman Street operations. The site offered an opportunity not only to expand production but also to bring an underutilized industrial building back into active use. The project was expected to support the installation of new production lines and create 18 full-time jobs in the local community, totaling $640,000 in payroll.
JobsOhio Small Business Grant program, Ohio Valley Stamping partnered with JobsOhio to acquire the facility and support its initial buildout.
As growth continued, the company faced a second challenge: scaling operations to keep pace with rising demand.
The Solution
Nearly three years later, Ohio Valley Stamping moved forward with the acquisition of an even bigger 103,000-square-foot production facility. The expansion allowed the company to consolidate operations across two buildings, activate previously unused upper-floor space, and install additional equipment to support increased output.
Ohio Valley Stamping again partnered with JobsOhio through the expansion to help offset the cost of improvements to the larger production space. These investments enabled the company to install new production lines, modernize its operations, and bring previously idle industrial space back into productive use. The project also created 12 new jobs and $500,000 in total payroll.
Regional partners, including the City of Mansfield and the Richland Area Chamber & Economic Development, played a key role in supporting the project.
Together, these efforts helped Ohio Valley Stamping expand its manufacturing footprint, create jobs, and strengthen its role in critical supply chains—demonstrating how targeted investment and public-private collaboration can help Ohio manufacturers grow and compete in today’s global economy.
