Where Heroes are Embraced

Recognizing our Nation’s Military Personnel is more than just saying Thank You.

Ohio is proud to support our nation's military members, veterans and their families. We constantly strive to be the most military-friendly state in the country. Started in 2003, Ohio's Hometown Heroes program honors the state's service members and their families and thanks them for the sacrifices they have made for this nation.

With the help of generous local businesses from across Ohio, thousands of military members and their families have enjoyed various cultural, sporting events and concerts throughout the state. From the Big Hoopla Basketball tournament held in Dayton, to the Memorial Golf Tournament in Dublin, OH and up to the Cleveland Guardian Baseball games in Northeast Ohio, thanking our Military goes statewide.

Hometown Heroes is just one way Ohio recognizes the sacrifices military members and their families make to keep our country safe. Regardless of where they are stationed, Ohio always welcomes them home.

The sacrifice and commitment of our servicemembers and their families cannot be measured, but we can say thanks by offering a sense of belonging. Hometown Heroes is just one way we welcome them and show our appreciation for all that they’ve given us.
