CareSource’s managed care business model was founded in 1989, and decades of expertise has resulted in the company’s national recognition for leading the industry in providing member-centric health care coverage.  

CareSource built its nine-story headquarters in Dayton in 2007. In 2016, to accommodate its employment growth and maintain its commitment to the Dayton community, it announced plans to expand with the construction of a new office building, which opened in 2019. CareSource also renovated another nearby building, creating a campus for its 3,000 Dayton-area employees. 

The acquisition of new CareSource markets and contract expansions in Indiana and Georgia has fueled significant growth in recent years, requiring additional back-office support and facility space in Dayton. 

CareSource has grown from 1,000 employees to more than 4,500, with most being newly created jobs in Ohio.
