Innovation Meets Community’ at Connect Coworx in Marion

Published: March 16, 2026

The Challenge

Classic Northern Investments began plans to dramatically transform the building at 181 East Center Street, in Marion, Ohio—once home to The Marion Star and the Fahey Bank—into a center for business and creativity. The comprehensive renovation considered the building’s structural integrity and historical value when planning a vibrant hub for businesses and the community.

The Solution

The 12,460-square-foot remodeled facility now houses Marion County’s first coworking space. Connect Coworx occupies 7,100 square feet and serves as a hub for professionals, innovators, and entrepreneurs in the region. Additional tenants include accounting firm Holbrook & Manter and Dostal & Kirk, an insurance and financial services agency.

By converting an underutilized space into a thriving business center—a place to connect, inspire, and equip local dreamers and doers—this project has not only created jobs, but also catalyzed investment in an Ohio community in need of a boost.

The Results

  • 14 created and retained jobs

  • 12K square feet

  • $167K invested by JobsOhio

  • $840K in catalyzed investments

  • $1M total payroll

  • $1.3M+ in new property value

The new development serves as a cornerstone for future growth, bringing new energy and opportunities to our downtown. It’s a place where innovation meets community, driving Marion forward.
