Goodwill Industries of Northwest Ohio, Inc.
Who Are We?
Goodwill was established in 1902 by the Rev. Edgar J. Helms in Boston, Massachusetts. Based on his philosophy of "a hand up, and not a handout," Rev. Helms collected used clothing and household items from the affluent residents of Boston and used these items to train individuals in the trades to repair and sell them to pay their wages. Goodwill has now expanded to 165 independent, community-based organizations in the U.S. and Canada, with their continued belief in the "Power of Work" as their guiding principle.
How Can We Help You?
In 1933, Goodwill Industries of Northwest Ohio, Inc. began providing employment and job training to their region. We continue these same services today, along with cohort training, job placement, and recruitment services for employers. We also have a nationally recognized reentry program and are a leader in the state of Ohio with reentry services. David Takats, Chief Mission Officer of Goodwill Industries of Northwest Ohio, Inc., encourages employers to participate in their collaborative job fairs.
