The Need
As one of the world’s leading automotive manufacturers, Stellantis has had to evolve its product lineup to meet shifting consumer demand, technological advancements, and increasing competition in the global automotive market. To support future growth, the company needed to expand domestic production capacity, introduce new vehicle platforms, and modernize key facilities.
Central to this strategy was strengthening its U.S. manufacturing presence while aligning production with next-generation vehicles and advanced powertrain technologies. Ohio—already home to one of Stellantis’ major manufacturing hubs—emerged as a critical location for the company’s next phase of investment.
The Solution
Stellantis is investing nearly $400 million in its Toledo Assembly Complex to support production of an all-new midsize truck. The program will now be housed alongside the Jeep® Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator—two iconic vehicles in the company’s portfolio.
The company also intends to continue previously announced investments in its Toledo plant. These include additional technologies and product actions for the Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator, as well as increased production of components critical to operations at the Toledo Machining Plant.
Key factors in choosing Ohio included:
Proximity to existing Stellantis operations in Northwest Ohio
A highly skilled and experienced automotive manufacturing workforce
A strong, established supplier network supporting vehicle production
Ohio’s central Midwest location with access to key U.S. and Canadian markets
A business-friendly environment that encourages long-term investment
The Results
Jobs Created: 908
Total Investment: $398 million
Economic Impact: The investment reinforces Northwest Ohio’s position as a cornerstone of U.S. automotive manufacturing. By expanding production and introducing a new vehicle program, Stellantis is driving job creation, strengthening regional suppliers, and supporting long-term economic growth across the Toledo area.
Strategic Advantage: Integrating new and existing vehicle production at the Toledo Assembly Complex allows Stellantis to optimize operations, leverage workforce expertise, and scale production efficiently. The move also helps the company remain competitive as demand evolves across both traditional and next-generation vehicle segments.
This investment in the U.S.— the single largest in the Company’s history—will drive our growth, strengthen our manufacturing footprint and bring more American jobs to the states we call home.
